Shane Taraschke, born and raised in Northwest Ohio, is an accomplished film director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. After graduation, he moved away from Ohio to see more of the world, settling in New York City in 2000 to learn the art and the business side of filmmaking. Shane's early work includes the short films "Living Dead," "Puzzled," "Pipe Wrench" and "What's Your Poison?", which explore themes of mortality and human connection. In 2015, he directed and produced his first feature-length film, "The Paranormal Mackinaw Tapes," a documentary journey through a Midwestern village with a rich and disturbing history. That same year, he stepped outside the horror genre to "Peyton's Burden," a romantic historical film that focuses an unsparing gaze upon our country's racist legacy. Like many masters of horror, Shane is a devoted family man and all-around nice guy.
