Ryan Charles was born in Suffern, New York on April 8th, 1985. He grew up in "upstate" Stony Point, NY where he eventually graduated from North Rockland High School having pursued theater and music in most of his spare time. He graduated from the HARTT School of Theater in 2007 with a BFA in Acting. Ryan's first short film, "American Standard", was an official selection at the 2007 Student Films Across America film festival and also played in NYC at New Filmmakers Forum. In 2008 Ryan moved to NYC and along with his cousin, Frank Licata, founded Nitty Gritty Studios- an independent film and media production company. In 2011, Nitty Gritty (in association with NYEH Entertainment and Sid & Nancy Productions) completed their first feature. "All God's Creatures", a romantic thriller about a serial killer who falls in love with a prostitute garnered two nods at the Hoboken International Festival including an acting nod for female lead Jessica Kaye (Veronica Decides To Die) and a writing nod for male lead and script writer Josh Folan (Death On Demand, Episode 50). Osiris Entertainment acquired the rights to "All God's Creatures" in 2012 and Ryan decided to move out to L.A. and try his hand in the sand. In October, 2013 Ryan took a position at Wakan Films under the helm of director Khashyar Darvich, best known for his 2006 documentary "Dalai Lama Renaissance". Ryan is lead editor on several feature length docs as well as the post production supervisor for a roster of over a half dozen projects with various teams of editors, associate producers and talents.
