Melanie Byron is an American actress, singer/songwriter and television host, who has had success in both the American and Latin American markets. Melanie began her studies at UCF, majoring in theater. During that time, she was given the opportunity to attend Sagrado Corazon University in Puerto Rico. This was followed by a two year move to London, England, where she attended both The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), and The Central School of Speech and Drama focusing on Shakespearean theater courses. Shortly after, Melanie moved to NYC and became a member of the Puerto Rican Traveling Theater Company. She also was an intern and attended workshops at The Actor's Studio (NYC). While in NYC, Melanie studied soap opera technique with Phoebe Rosenberg Jones, acting for film with John Gallagher, commercial, soap opera work shops, and dance at The Broadway Dance Center. She also studied different theater techniques with Ron Milkie. Melanie's big break came when she was cast as the host for a live two hour TV show, "The Roof", which aired on Mun2. She later moved on to host "Da' Klick" which aired on Galavisión and "Flow Zone" which aired on CTV. Besides her hosting, Melanie also got to apply her production skills by writing and producing her own, on location, segments. Around this time, Melanie also hosted various live concerts and both The Billboard Bash and The Latin Billboard Bash back to back. Venturing into the editorial world, she later became the editor in chief of The Source Latino Magazine and wrote her own column in The Source Magazine, "Island Hoppin'". Ms. Byron has a successful YouTube variety channel called Booduluv TV. She is also a recording artist/singer-songwriter and is a member of Luna Dorma, a duo founded by Melanie Byron and opera/pop singer Mark Antonio de Villiers. Luna Dorma is a fusion of pop and latin pop with classical and R&B / soulful nuances.
