Fred Cantor grew up in Fresh Meadows, Queens (New York City) and Westport, Connecticut. He graduated from Yale University and the University of Connecticut School of Law. He has worked as a writer and producer, having co-created "America's Lost Band" (2008) and "The High School That Rocked!" (2017). He has also worked as a lyricist on songs recorded by The Remains, Charlie Karp, and Michael Mugrage, as a theatrical producer (on the rock musical "All Good Things"), and is the author/co-author of three books.
