Donna LoCicero is a writer, producer and documentary filmmaker with more than 15 years' experience working on dozens of ground-breaking film projects for network, cable and international television. A true innovator, she brought shark conservation to the Discovery Channel's Shark Week, long criticized by conservationists for its "Jaws-style" blood and gore programming. By creating portraits of shark attack victims who have joined forces to protect sharks populations, Donna brought the plight of the world's sharks to millions of viewers. Her film, "Hunting in America," for National Geographic Channel, won a Best Documentary Genesis Award. Her landmark series, "Looking for America," aired nationally on ABC News and was nominated for an Emmy. It brought fresh voices the screen as a news correspondent hitchhiked across the country, telling the story of each person who picked him up. Donna's work has aired on the Bravo Network, the Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel, the History Channel, ABC News, A & E, the Science Channel, the Travel Channel, Investigation Discovery, the Food Network and the Nippon Television Network. She has donated her time and skill to a variety of non-profit films, including a film about the plight of the indigenous Huichol people of Mexico and another about the death toll from the war in Iraq. 3 Still Standing is her first feature-length documentary film.
