Jorge Quesada is a Spanish actor who was born and raised in Madrid although his parents are from Andalucía (southern Spain). Recently based in LA to continue his training in acting for film at the New York Film Academy, his passion for theatre began as soon as he started high school at the mere age of 14 and since then he knew that his life was to be dedicated to theatre. While theatre is his first passion, Jorge developed a fascination for foreign languages such as French and English. He is now fully fluent in both and enjoys practicing them with native speakers as often as possible. After finishing high school, Jorge knew if he wanted to take theatre seriously he would have to be well prepared. He enrolled and was accepted to the acting program of RESAD (Real Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático) where he graduated in 2010. During these years he trained with several influential teachers such as Soledad Garre (Michael Chekhov technique), Joaquín Campomanes (fencing), Vicente Fuentes, Concha Doñaque and Chelo García (voice, speech and verse). Jorge believes that theatre isn't just acting and that an actor should be trained all around in voice (singing) as well as dance and movement. He studied voice with Maria Luisa Castellanos and Narciso Tenorio. With them, he explored different theatrical styles such as Zarzuela, a style of musical theatre native to Spain. He followed his voice lessons with an extended trip to Buenos Aires, Argentina to study aerial dance at the prestigious school of Brenda Angiel. Jorge specifically chose this school at this location because how incredibly moved he was by the show Villa Villa by De La Guarda. After all the training and traveling, he returns to his hometown of Madrid. He discovers a school dedicated to acting for film. During his time at La Central de Cine, he learned to adapt and adjust his knowledge of theatrical acting for the screen. This place became a second home to him and currently today he still trains here with the directors Eva Lesmes and Goya nominated director, María Ripoll. Jorge firmly believes that the actor is an artist who is constantly growing and learning, and he/she must have a high quality of training; that is the reason for which he makes contact with the Michael Chekhov Association Europe where directors, actors and teachers from different countries of Europe help him to get a deeper knowledge of the acting technique developed by Michael Chekhov. This technique is a completely imaginative approach to experiencing the truth of the moment, where the using of the body becomes crucial to create what Michael Chekhov used to call the Creative Individuality of the actor/artist. Jorge Quesada sees the theatre and film world as the sum of various artistic minds who put their creativity and expertise in a common goal. That is why the passion, generosity, collaboration, discipline and constant improvement are qualities that have always been present in his work throughout his academic and professional experience.
