Reema Dutt was born in Illinois. She received her BA in economics, journalism and producing at NYU. Shortly after, she co-founded I Laugh I Cry Films with writer-director Sania Jhankar. Together, they create original films that educate, inspire and share stories across cultures. Reema has produced features, docs, shorts and commercials for over 4 years, being involved in every stage of production from inception and creative development to distribution and marketing. Her work includes Butterflies of Bill Baker, A Refugee and Get Happy, among others. She is also the co-founder of Luminoustudios, a company that creates ad-films for startups and small businesses. She has worn many hats in her career - writer, communicator, creative producer, manager, developer, researcher, marketer, strategic thinker. Reema received an MSc from the London School of Economics in global media and an MA from USC in global communications. In 2013, her graduate thesis focusing on the representation of women in Hollywood was published at LSE.
