Aygün Kazimova was born in the Baku, Azerbaijan, on January 26, 1971. She is an Azerbaijani singer-songwriter, dancer, producer and actress. Aygün was trained as a competitive athlete. She was the captain of the Azerbaijan SSR's female handball team. She developed her voice early in life. In 1988, she rose to fame for winning of "Baki Payizi 88" (Baku Autumn - 88). In 1990-1994 she took part in the first Karabakh War. Aygün's debut album, "Ömrüm - Günüm", was recorded with "Baku Raks Music" in 1997. During 2002 and 2006 she was president of the "Best Model of Azerbaijan" competition. In 2006, Aygün Kazimova portrayed the title role in "Khari Bulbullar", a historical musical about the life of Khurshidbanu Natavan. In 2007, she was concert at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium in Baku, Azerbaijan. She was a contestant in Azerbaijan Survivor 2011 in Namibia. In 2012, she performed the song "Qol", which served as the official theme of the 2012 Fifa u-17 Women's World Cup in Azerbaijan. On August 16, 2013, Aygün released "Coffe From Colombia", the first english max-single featuring Snoop Dogg. She was one of the three judges on the first season of entertainment show Azerbaijan's Got Talent that aired on ATV in 2015. In August 2016, Aygün Kazimova won the award for "Best Azerbaijani Female Act" at the Daf Bama Music Awards. In 2017, she was concert at the Crystal Hall in Baku, Azerbaijan. Her studio album "DUY" was released in 2018, featuring hits such as "Duy" with David Vendetta and "S.U.S. (Remake)" which she performed at the "Golden Butterfly Awards" in Turkey. Aygün Kazimova became a prominent figure of Azerbaijani pop music with her songs, in which she tried to create a strong female figure. She is one of the most influential figures in azerbaijan popular culture and has often been referred to as the "Queen of Azerbaijani Pop".
