Michael Bloodgood is the founder and bass guitarist for heavy metal rock band, BLOODGOOD - also known for his work in the award-winning documentary film, TRENCHES OF ROCK. Michael's passion for rock and roll and playing guitar began after watching the Beatles' performance on the Ed Sullivan show. Soon he was in the garage with his mates and irritating the neighborhood! Once in junior high school he began to play in cover bands wherever and whenever it was possible. Once in high school his bands would compete in local talent shows, perform at dances and anywhere else the doors opened. Once in college, however, his musical direction took him down a very different path as he began playing Christian rock at local churches (that didn't think rock was "the devil's music", coffee bars, parks and often at the Naval Training Center in San Diego. After relocating to the Seattle area, he was involved in another band with his wife, Marilyn, and his college friends. The band, Cypress was created and performed in Pacific Northwest venues, prisons, parks, and churches. It was in the early 80s that he began to put together the Christian heavy metal, BLOODGOOD. The band, while surrounded in controversy over their overtly Christian lyrics and theatrical performances, would eventually release six studio albums and four live CDs and DVDs over their still active schedule. Michael wrote or co-wrote over 30 songs with the band and released his own solo project, "The Cross Changes Everything" with 3 of his own self-penned works. Along with BLOODGOOD, Michael is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Redmond in Washington state.
