The Pitch KC wrote a colorful review of South's inaugural film, culminating in "you might be cheered by all the hometown pride coursing through Paul South". South made the erotic slasher "House of the White Lotus" in the spring of 2013 and followed it up with the supernatural crime drama "Guilty" the next year which was selected to the Kansas City FilmFest International. "Roasting KC" won First Place and Audience Choice awards at the Independent Film Coalition's Every Picture Tells a Story screening. In the winter of 2021, South began his Giallo Trilogy, a three part film series homage to the Italian slasher movies of the 60's, 70s, and 80s shot entirely on Super8mm film using equipment of the era. The first film, "The Bellman" took First Place at the Haunted Garage Film Festival. The second film, "Baggage", is in post-production as of the winter of 2022.
