Sasha was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, to a family of Caucasian mountain Jews. At 17, Sasha immigrated to Israel. After an army, he studied at the Sam Spiegel Film School in Jerusalem. He writes and directs films. Sasha studied Judaism and at the same time as a filmmaker, he teaches Judaism and the Bible. Investigating the relationship between cinema and Judaism, he founded a pre-prophetic film group
