Mary was born in Fort Worth, Texas and grew up in Canal Fulton, Ohio. She attended Central Catholic High School. In high school she was involved with the policy debate team and choir. In 2003 she participated as a student ambassador in the People to People program for three weeks in the British Isles. While in her senior year of high school she took post-secondary classes at Walsh University with a focus on philosophy. While a sophomore in college, she interned on Terrence Malick's film The Tree of Life in 2008 for three months of principal shooting in Texas. In 2010 she graduated from the Savannah College of Art & Design with a BFA in Film & Television in Savannah, Georgia. Her senior thesis film Obsolescence was nominated for a Scademy in the category of Best Undergraduate Documentary in 2011. In February of 2011 she moved Los Angeles, California and is now a freelance art director for films and enjoys making documentaries.
