Matthew Herbertz

Matthew Herbertz is an award winning filmmaker originally from Indianapolis, IN. He started making films when he was in High School and never looked back. Matthew received his undergraduate degree in TV/Film from DeSales University in 2013 and went on to receive his MFA in Film and Video Production at Ohio University in 2016. Since starting his career, Matthew has written and directed documentary, narrative, and experimental short films that have screened at festivals nationally and internationally. In addition to his work as an independent filmmaker, Matthew has worked as a cinematographer, assistant director, producer, and gaffer on a number of short and feature films. Matthew prides himself in being a filmmaker and a teacher. He teaches undergraduate film production and theory courses, specializing in cinematography, writing, directing, and editing at DePauw University.
