After attending high school in Berlin, Yasin Demirel moved to New York City to attend the New York Film Academy to study directing. He continued his education at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles and returned to Berlin where he worked as a writer, director and creative director for commercials, feature films and documentaries. In 2009 he made his first film The Bread. The film is based on a post-war II story by Wolfgang Borchert. The film received wide recognition at various international film festivals. After the successful production of various commercials Yasin Demirel devoted himself to the development of his first feature film Solitario. In 2011 he moved to Italy to write the screenplay for Solitario. The film is in pre-production ready to shoot in late 2015 starring Violante Placido and Riccardo Scamarcio in the lead roles. In 2014, Yasin Demirel continued his work on the documentary film Architecture At Gunpoint for which he created the concept after a meeting with the Lebanese star-architect Bernard Khoury in Berlin a few years earlier. In 2015 he co-produced the film Keine Zeit zu Leben - No Time To Live directed by Aleksandar Vidojkovic. He served as the Art Director on it as well. The film received national recognition at numerous film festivals in Germany.
