Actress and stage director Amanda Banffy was born in São Paulo, Brazil. Bachelor in Scenic Arts at ECA-USP (School for Communication and Arts - University of São Paulo), Amanda studied Theater at CPT, a course by Antunes Filho, in São Paulo, and studied at a workshop by Ariane Mnouchkine (Theatre du Soleil). Her first works were in 1997, since when Amanda did not interrupt them. She was director assistant for Brazilian director Antunes Filho in the production of "Policarpo Quaresma" and before that experience she has already directed several stage play productions during her years in University, among them "The Respected Whore" by Jean-Paul Sartre, in 2006. As an actress, Amanda worked at very recent plays as "Chronicles by a Brown Cat" (2011), a play written and directed by Mauricio Fülber and "Millers does not Overfly Halogen Lamps" (2010), written and directed by Paula Chagas and Marcos Gomes. Amanda acted as one of the female leading roles in two feature films, one of them is "Fluid" (2009), directed by Alexandre Carvalho, and made a participation in "Two Rabbits" (2011), a film directed by Afonso Poyart. She also worked in ad films for Whisky Festival, Skol and others companies, beyond her appearances in several short films and institutional video productions.
