Steven Andrew is a Writer/Director born in Warren, Ohio. He spent most of his time in northeast Ohio dreaming, writing, and creating anything he could get his hands on. He started playing music actively 1994 onward and toured with as a bass player/guitarist in a hardcore band from 1997-2003. During that time he became increasingly interested in filmmaking and upon reading the Robert Rodriguez book, 'Rebel Without a Crew', he decided to turn some of his stories he would write over the years into actual full-fledged productions. He recruited his a lot of his friends and borrowed, rented, or bought gear many times to achieve his dream of making a movie. Starting off with short subject he created a small film named after a local urban legend in Hillsville, PA called Zombieland in 2004. In the summer of 2005 a little over a year later he decided it was time to write something new and created the sci-fi tragedy that became his second and much longer short film, Find Your Way Ella Walsh. In 2006 a double horror feature came to his town to shoot their film My Soul To Take (Water Street Productions) and ended up hanging around that set learning the ins and outs of a much larger production as well as eventually ending up a featured extra. Several years later, in 2009 he met Pirooz Kalayeh and Thomas Henwood, who came to shoot their film the Human War (book) in the author's hometown, now his hometown too. They rented the space below his in what used to be a duplex mansion in Youngstown's former ritzier area, that had become rundown. They wanted to utilize the space as their main set and ended up enlisting him to oversee a few production aspects and he again invited his own contacts to become part of the production and crew, from running wardrobe, sound, and production coordinating. He eventually was talked into playing a supporting role and ended up in the feature as well. He's writing and planning more films.
