Elyse Kelly is an award-winning director based in Washington DC. Most recently, she was animation director on Taylor Swift: Miss Americana--a documentary that gives a raw and emotionally revealing look at one of the most iconic artists of our time. The film premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival. Her animated series for the ACLU's Campaign for Smart Justice spotlighted three individuals whose experiences show the toll that an abusive and unjust criminal system takes on individuals, families, and communities. It premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and was nominated for the 2018 Tribeca X Award. In 2017, she co-directed Fired Up, an animated short that depicts the origins of President Obama's "fired up, ready to go" chant. Released on the final day of the Obama presidency, the film was featured by The Atlantic and has been screened in festivals worldwide.
