Hannah Peel is an Emmy nominated Northern Irish artist, composer, producer and broadcaster. Peel navigates synthesisers, electronics, orchestral work, hand punched music boxes and unique sound worlds for her own solo albums as well as compositions for film and TV. Whether it be her solo electronic and pop work 'Awake But Always Dreaming' which became an ode to her grandmother's mind as she lived with dementia; an electronic ruralism album 'Chalk Hill Blue' with the poet Will Burns; or space and the unparalleled vastness in 'Mary Casio: Journey to Cassiopeia', scored for synthesisers and a 30 piece colliery brass band - her work is ambitious and forward-looking, adapting and re-inventing new genres and hybrid musical forms. In 2019 she composed and recorded the soundtrack for "Game of Thrones: The Last Watch" which earned her an Emmy nomination in the 'Outstanding Music Composition For A Documentary Series Or Special (Original Dramatic Score)'. Hannah also began presenting the BBC Radio 3 show 'Night Tracks', created the music for the BBC documentary 'London Calling: Cold War Letters' and (due to be broadcast in May 2020) a documentary film about the groundbreaking photographer and model, Lee Miller. In 2020, she has already scored her first TV series, the psychological thriller 'The Deceived' (summer 2020). As well as her own work, she has also contributed her sublime vocals, synths and orchestration to records by Paul Weller, Beyond The Wizard's Sleeve, Rae Morris and John Foxx. Her ongoing collaboration with Paul Weller includes work on his studio albums and orchestrating / conducting for his live shows.
