Writer-Director-Producer-Survivor - Gina M. Garcia was born in Tehran, Iran while her father Charley was working for Air America, a division of the CIA. Air America shut its doors in 1975 and her family relocated to Orlando, Florida where she grew up with her mother Maggie and her three siblings. Her childhood differed from most other children's. In the fall of 1981, at the age of eight, she was abducted by a stranger in a Florida shopping mall. After being brutally attacked, she narrowly escaped by jumping out of a moving car and running for her life. After years of soul searching, she felt compelled to start making a difference and believed the greatest media to do so was through film. In the spring of 2009, she moved to the Philippines for film school and to get a better understanding of her mother and her Filipino culture. Step-by-step she started learning the craft of film making. In the fall off 2011 at an award ceremony Ms. Garcia was attending for a project she worked on she had the opportunity to meet Director Patty Jenkins. Where she asked Ms. Jenkins if she would consider directing Untold: This is my story which she kindly said, "No, Gina you have to tell your story". Ms. Jenkins then began to mentor Garcia from script to screen truly changing Gina's life and helped make Untold: This My Story a reality. Ms. Garcia served three years in the United States Navy assigned to NATO Supreme Allied Command Atlantic, has created various start-up companies that have been sold at a profit, founded an alternative transportation company called Trikaoo that manufactures Small Footprint Electric Passenger Vehicles and founded a 501c3 Non-Profit called The Untold Project to raise awareness of the issues caused by the long-term effects of Sexual Assault.
