Dan Marcus

Dan was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 12, 1989 and a few years later moved with his mother to Sarasota, Florida where he was raised. He attended Southside Elementary School, McIntosh Middle School, Sarasota Middle School and then finally graduated from the Sarasota County Technical Institute when he was 16 in 2005. While attending Southside Elementary School, he was encouraged and supported by his teachers and fellow students to hone his writing skills. During middle school he wrote his first feature-length screenplay at 14. After graduating high school, he pursued many options, including looking at various film schools, but finally decided at 18 to embark on a filmmaking career himself. At 18, he moved back to Chicago where he continues to live. He directed his first short film entitled "Wake" that year, in which he also co-wrote and co-produced. He is currently working on finishing his second short film entitled "Fallen".
