Alexandra Codina spent over four years at the Miami International Film Festival as Programmer and Outreach Manager, and brought Cinema Tropical to Miami-the lead alternative distributor for Latin American cinema in the U.S.. Codina's film experience began in 2000, as an intern for Big Mouth Productions, after graduating from Bowdoin College. She serves on the Boards of The Women's Fund of Miami-Dade and Coconut Grove Cares. "Monica & David" marks Alexandra Codina's directorial debut. Awarded the Jury Award for Best Documentary Feature at the Tribeca Film Festival, Alexandra was also named one of the "10 Filmmakers to Watch", by The Independent. Ali is directing a short documentary on a 96-year-old farmer in rural Connecticut, while dreaming up her next feature documentary project.
