Maya Haffar was born in 1980. She studied political science in Paris and cinema in Philadelphia. She worked for several years as a production manager (notably on Louis Garrel's Petit Tailleur) then as a producer (notably on Guillaume Brac's Un monde sans femme). In 2012, she went to the scriptwriting workshop of La Fémis.
