Danny started acting in theater in 1987. After graduating with a BS in Engineering, Danny moved to NYC in the 90's and acted in and produced plays, sketch comedy, and stand up comedy. He became one of the biggest producers of stand up comedy in NYC outside the comedy clubs for 8 years. He had 5 different venues, producing 8 shows a week, and giving away 30 spots a week to comedians. Danny had celebrities such as Jim Gaffigan, Ed Helms, Sarah Silverman, Marc Maron, Bill Burr, and many others come in on a regular basis to headline. He also co-founded the Comedy Soapbox with Steve Hofstetter. Danny quickly established himself as dramatic actor/comedian and guy who occasionally got random bands let him jump up and sing. He headlined himself for a couple years across from Caroline's Comedy Club in Times Square and also did a one man show with 11 different characters and full costumes off off Broadway. Danny was cast in a great deal of theater, appearing in numerous plays and was the lead in six productions off and off off Broadway. As far as film, Danny wrote his first screenplay in 1995. He's had a few small options on scripts. Danny moved to LA in 2013 and produced a comedy series that we premiered at the Hollywood Improv called "Who Killed the Bible Salesman", while doing comedy at the clubs and small venues. Danny continued writing scripts and has a comedy room he's been running since 2017 in Burbank. One of his scripts, a vigilante/horror/comedy, Danny successfully produced a reading with Christopher Titus, Judd Nelson, and Casper Van Dien. There were 18 actors and about 30 audience members. During the pandemic, Danny has been doing several live interviews on various web shows. He's also been shooting a series of shorts about a man with split personalities living with himself in quarantine called Livin in Corona. Because of these videos, He's been sponsored to do his own show on StreamYard as he continues to develop a couple other projects. A world renowned acting coach Bob McAndrew's says, "Danny McDermott is a great talent with a wide range of characters. Unusual, exhilarating with a tremendous presence. He is electrifying. What a wonderful surprise.I couldn't stop laughing during the preview of his one man show, How Not To Act. While watching his performance, Alex Guiness came to mind."
