George King is a writer, producer, and director of nonfiction film, television and radio projects. His work has consistently won national and international interest (Peabody, Cine Golden Eagles, Golden Reels, etc.) and garnered revues in the national and regional press in the U.S. Projects range in approach from journalistic (Aging, the Myths), parody and satire (Ten Thousand Points of Light, Bananaland), and historical (Goin' to Chicago, Will the Circle be Unbroken?), biography (Who's That Stranger?) to the experimental (Word of Mouth). King is currently working on a feature documentary about artist/musician Lonnie Holley. In addition, King has taught writing and documentary film and radio production in industry workshops, community forums, art schools, and universities in the U.S. and Europe. As a documentary media artist, King has served as an advisor and panelist for: National Endowment for the Humanities, National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Southeast Media Fellowships; NEA Inter-Arts/ Rockefeller Inter-disciplinary Fellowships; Fulton County Arts Council: Film & Video Artists; Georgia Council for the Arts: Individual Artists; City of Atlanta Bureau of Cultural Affairs: Individual Artists; and Cable Television Producers; Kentucky Arts Council, Mid-Atlantic Arts Foundation, and the Metropolitan Atlanta Community Foundation.
