Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised on St. Thomas, VI, Lawrence Benjamin has over 25 years of experience performing, writing, directing, and producing for screen, stage, and radio. His entertainment management talents have been on display in the production of numerous live televised events including city-wide Mardi Gras events, and various holiday celebrations. He has handled all aspects of production from start to finish and co-produced and performed in hundreds of improv comedy shows between Orlando and Miami. Additionally, he has overseen Entertainment and Marketing Departments while working with various production companies and has consistently brought projects to fruition on time and under budget. Lawrence worked as the first assistant director and co-producer, of the Emmy award wining "Stable Wars: Del Mar" and earned a directing credit on one of the episodes. He produced and worked as a director on "Cash Floor," "The Funny Bunch," "The Marcus B Caribbean Comedy Series," and "Recipe Hunters." Other producer credits include "Deep Water Seekers," and "The Real Catch." He also co-wrote, executive produced, and co-starred in the short film "Package." Lawrence has also produced, directed and stage-managed numerous stage shows in the southeastern United States. His directorial credits include "The Dining Room," "Picasso at the Lapin Agile," "Sisters," "The Octette Bridge Club," "Ma Rainey's Big Bottom," "Moon Over Buffalo," "Beau Jest," "The Sugar Bean Sisters," and the world premiere of "The Whirlwind Cometh - The Ocoee Story." Lawrence has worked as an Event Producer for EXP Productions where he managed extended mobile marketing tours for Kodak nationwide, in addition to producing industrials and corporate videos for various other clients. He has also written, arranged, and produced three albums of original music. He enjoys traveling, scuba diving and other water sports, fine food, and properly aged rum.
