Actor Steven Daniel Neely hails from Nashville, Tennessee, a town known for artists. In his younger years, Steven saw himself as the next lead-off, starting centerfield for a MLB team. Dubbed as the best outfielder to come out of his high school by his baseball coach, Steven entered the next level of collegiate baseball; His desire to play coupled by a back injury and his parents separating, Steven decided to move close to home to watch after his younger brother. Steven gave up the college-athlete experience and focused his attention on the field of psychology. Steven earned his Bachelors degree in Psychology and after a short stint in the corporate world, Steven found himself drawn to learn more about the field of Counseling Psychology, where he enrolled in a small school in North Carolina. After 2 intense years of study, Steven graduated with a Masters in Counseling and moved back to Nashville. Steven began working with people of all ages and issues. Through a process of over 7 plus years of providing counseling/therapy to individuals, couples, and families, he found a need to take a step back and see what else was out in the world that provided him an avenue, an outlet to share the multitude of emotions he's experienced in being with others. Although sports provided a physical outlet, it was acting that Steven found that was the emotional outlet he was looking for. Steven found joy and freedom in taking classes from his acting coach, Alan Dysert, and others such as actor, David Keith, and Robert Duvall's manager turned producer, Brad Wilson. Steven first found acting to be a hobby, but soon learned that the dedication he had once made to baseball and counseling would be needed to come into his own as an actor. Through his constant effort and study, Steven has found himself working in a recent pilot Trade Trade, directed by Gavin Hood and upcoming movie, Country Strong. In his spare time, Steven enjoys giving back in supporting non-profit organizations such as Global Support Mission, a movement of compassion to wipe out hunger, disease, and extreme poverty, and Young Life, where adults build bridges of authentic friendships with kids through patience, trust, and consistency. You can find Steven spending time mentoring kids in Nashville's roughest project area, James Cayce Homes.
