Benjamin Kahlmeyer

Benjamin Kahlmeyer (*1982, Marburg) is an independent filmmaker based in Berlin. He studied philosophy and literature at Freie Universität Berlin before he enrolled at the Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in 2005. He is working as a director & author, cinematographer and editor for TV, web and cinema - with broad expertise in the fields of documentary, experimental and fictional formats. He won numerous awards for his feature length documentaries MEANWHILE IN MAMELODI and THE INVISIBLES. His short film EISEN won the GOLDEN DOVE at DOK Leipzig in 2015. In 2018 he was awarded the GRIMME PREIS for directing GERMANIA a popular web series on Youtube.
