Keith Hodder was born and raised in Nova Scotia, Canada. He began his career acting in school plays, independent student films, and as an extra in Snow Angels (2007) and Amelia (2009) where he discovered a fascination for the work that took place behind the scenes. He wrote and directed his first films at the age of 15 at Auburn Drive High School, and at 18 relocated to Toronto to attend Ryerson University's School of Radio and Television Arts to focus on a career as a writer and filmmaker. His second year film Interception (2010) won "Best Student Film" at the 2011 Canada International Film Festival, and he is most known for his short Van Gore (2011) which won the Hobo with a Shotgun (2011) faux trailer contest, as selected by judges Jason Eisener and Joe Dante Outside of his own work, Keith has assisted and has been mentored by directors Mick Garris, John Kent Harrison, and Ramin Bahrani.
