Sarah Elisabeth Little was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her father is a retired police officer of Scottish heritage, her mother is a CPA/lawyer of English and German heritage. She has three younger brothers. Her interest in carpentry began around age 5, watching such shows as "This Old House" and "The New Yankee Workshop" on Saturday mornings, rather than the usual cartoons. She quickly became enamored with the notion of taking an ordinary piece of wood and turning it into something useful and beautiful. She felt certain she wanted to make furniture and carve wood for the rest of her life. It was at age 11 she realized there were other means and mediums of artistic expression when she was involved in a school play. Her 6th grade class wrote, designed and performed a production about Egypt. She was specifically tasked with co-writing the script and designing the set. It was a defining moment. Someone, somewhere, still has a VHS recording of it. In the years following, her love for carpentry, painting and all things production grew. She attended Parkview Arts Magnet High School, in Little Rock, AR. The school has a large, professional quality theater. While there she focused on, and excelled in, technical theater. She developed skills in every aspect of theatrical production, from designing lighting plots to makeup. From age 14 she pursued technical theater to its extent in Little Rock, until working at the Arkansas Repertory Theater on a contract basis. She credits her high school stagecraft teacher (Debbie Howell) and the Rep's resident designer (Mike Nichols) as her mentors. After some time, the permanence of film and television production became more appealing than the temporary nature of theater. After a few smaller local projects, in December 2009, she moved from Little Rock to Los Angeles, California. Since then she has relentlessly pursued and developed her craft, while also continuing her education. Sarah presently resides in Pasadena, California.
