Teddy Hose is an award-winning animator, filmmaker, artist, writer, and public figure based in Brooklyn. Teddy's thesis animation from the School of Visual Arts, The Tale of Lester Rhymes went on to win awards like mtvU's Best Film on Campus. After graduating, Teddy found work designing the dossiers featured in the first season of Food Network's Throwdown with Bobby Flay (2006), later becoming a designer/animator for NickJr.com and Disney Interactive. His comedy writing has been featured in McSweeney's, while his weekly webcomic from 2012-2015, Oscillating Profundities saw press in Laughing Squid, Mashable, and Fast Company. Teddy's comedy short, The Ford Focus: Stimulating (2016) won Best Micro Film at the ACME Comedy Film Festival, LA in 2016. As a writer, Teddy has contributed articles for The Huffington Post and a review of Fresh Off the Boat (2015) in The Bold Italic. Having grown up in the Unification Church cult ("Moonies"), Teddy decided to make his personal story in it and cult research a focus in his work. After being interviewed in VICE and UPROXX for this reason, Teddy went on to appear in docuseries A&E's Cults and Extreme Belief (2018) and Vox's Explained (2018) on Netflix. He also contributed a related webcomic titled Moon Child to The Nib, while appearing in episodes for cult-themed podcasts IndoctriNation, Generation Cult, and the Talk Beliefs YouTube channel.
