Michael J. Hartnett

Michael is a director / cinematographer and co-founder of Vinegar Hill, a Pittsburgh PA based film studio. Michael grew up in D.C. where his father worked for NASA and his mother was an art teacher. He was given a VHS-C video camera when he was 10 years old and immediately started making movies. Michael found a natural affinity for cinematography because it combined both artistic and technical disciplines. In 2007 Michael co-founded Vinegar Hill while attending Johns Hopkins University. Since then he has filmed in over 30 countries working on numerous commercial, narrative and documentary films. Michael now lives in Pittsburgh PA with his wife Jocelyn and two children.
