Torfinnur Jákupsson is a Faroese screenwriter and executive producer, based in the Faroe Islands as well as Copenhagen. He is represented by Scandinavian boutique agency, Albatros Agency, working closely with the world-renowned ICM Partners. Torfinnur is the creator and head writer of the first ever Faroese TV drama series, the crime drama "TROM." The series is produced by REinvent Studios for Viaplay and ZDF/Arte, among others, and is based on the best-selling crime novels by Jógvan Isaksen, set in the heart of the North Atlantic Ocean. Torfinnur has a diverse background in journalism, film, television, music and the online environment. After working in "the City" in London, Torfinnur decided to change industry from the world of news and finance to film. Over the past decade, he has refined his skills in a wide range of roles - spanning feature films, shorts, documentaries, series and music videos. In his work, Torfinnur has a preference for distinctive genre-blending stories. His recent projects, including his work as an editor and sound designer, have won several awards and nominations at a wide range of international film and TV festivals and network events. Other major projects currently in development (2020) include the political crime series "TINGANES," eco-crime thriller series "ANGST," as well as his first feature film "LÝ," a Nordic take on the neo-western.
