Claire Ensslin was born in 1990 and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. She displayed artistic talent at a young age, and her drawings and paintings garnered national recognition. After graduating high school in 2008, Claire moved to New York City to pursue a BFA degree in Film and Video Directing at School of Visual Arts. Her ambitious student films caught the attention of notable professors such as Chris Newman and Dejan Georgevich, ASC. Claire met filmmaker William Wedig in 2009, and he became her mentor. Claire worked closely with Will in the editing of theatrically-released feature films Forged and La Soga. Claire's own short films are characterized by darkly imaginative subject matter, creative visual storytelling, and realistic human emotion.
