Biography

Bob Tourangeau was born as Robert Francis Tourangeau, Jr. to Alice Mary (Rochefort) and Robert Francis Tourangeau. He was raised in Naugatuck, Connecticut with his sisters Jean and Judy. Both parents were mill workers for Uniroyal Footwear. Bob's father played guitar and performed magic for parties as "Bob Francis". Bob's mother was known to play spoons and clogged as a young woman. Bob attended Cross Street Elementary School and Hillside Junior High School. He graduated from Naugatuck High School with the class of 1972. Bob went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Design from the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut, where he met his future wife of 39 years, Joanne Marie (Kosotsky). Shy, and suffering from stage fright, Bob never appeared on stage until 1980, at the age of 26, when he was coerced into two small speaking roles in a community theater production of "The Wind in the Willows" while living in East Lempster, New Hampshire.
