Christine Altan began her acting career in Boston and has starred in numerous lead and supporting roles in film and commercial work. Christine is also a writer and producer and co-wrote and starred in the short film My Pretty Maura, an intense and dark dramatic film that explores the social themes of mental illness and self image. Following this, she wrote, produced, and starred in the short film Threads That Bind Us, a mysterious drama that explores the subjects of loss, trauma, and a phenomenon called Genetic Sexual Attraction. Christine was also the recipient of the 2016 Shawna Shea Memorial Foundation's Women in Film Fellowship Award. With this award came a stipend and a year-long mentorship with industry professionals for her directorial debut of Namaste: The Film, which received Best Short and Best Director awards through the Women's Only Entertainment Film Festival. Christine also holds the title of Mrs. New Hampshire America 2008. Christine's life hasn't been all glamour and lights. At the age of 13, Christine spent a year as a runaway. Her cross-country journey began in Tampa, Florida and ended in Fresno, CA. Christine's year in the Sunshine State was riddled with many precarious situations. After a year of being homesick, she called her mother and flew back to Turkey where she spent the next few years. This experience, and other soul-crushing moments in her adulthood, have shaped Christine into a woman who has a deep understanding of the struggles of humanity, including her own, and has enabled her to take on challenging roles.
