Josh Bernstein is a respected, passionate, dynamic veteran of the music industry, who amassed a huge stack of achievements in television, sales, production, publishing, marketing, and art direction before he'd even turned 40. As President of Hit Parader, Bernstein now oversees the imminent 2020 relaunch of the legendary brand, a music tastemaker beloved for more than 70 years. Best known as the cofounder and creative engine behind several internationally recognized events for XXL, Loudwire, Revolver, and Alternative Press, Josh has worked alongside everyone from Live Nation and AEG to the Rock Hall of Fame and the GRAMMYs to give life to each vision. He's developed broadcast deals and creative partnerships with Apple, Amazon, Twitch, SiriusXM, MTV2, AXS TV, and Xbox Live, and enjoyed strong working relationships with top-tier pop culture icons, like Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Twenty One Pilots, Panic! At The Disco, and Foo Fighters. His strong reputation and even stronger work ethic often result in sponsorship deals with major companies, big and small, including Harley-Davidson, WWE, Budweiser, Lionsgate, Converse, and Journeys. A lifelong art and music lover and an unapologetic pop culture obsessive, Josh began his career as a teen with an internship at Marvel Comics. His independently published, illustration-heavy Royal Flush Magazine earned accolades from the LA Times, Entertainment Weekly, and USA Today. The Wall Street Journal, Maxim, New York Magazine, Blender and Time Out New York were among the media giants to make use of his skills. As Director of Marketing for NewBay Media, then home to Revolver and Guitar World, Josh created and executive produced the only award show in America dedicated to the hard rock and heavy metal community, the annual Golden Gods Awards, where guests and performers included Ozzy Osbourne, Mötley Crüe, Johnny Depp, Marilyn Manson, Jack Black and Rob Zombie, among others. It was during this time the Grammy Museum enlisted him to curate their acclaimed History of Heavy Metal exhibit in LA. Bernstein launched the Rock & Roll Roast comedy series on AXS TV in 2012, starring Sharon Osbourne, William Shatner, Alice Cooper, Donald Trump, "Weird Al" Yankovic and Randy Jackson, among others. Two years later, he cofounded the annual Alternative Press Music Awards, broadcast globally on Amazon Music and Twitch, with performers like Weezer, Fall Out Boy, Paramore, Machine Gun Kelly and Blink-182. He served as APMAs Executive Producer and VP of Sales & Partnerships at Alternative Press until 2016. Bernstein's digital and live event portfolio included Loudwire, XXL, Taste Of Country, Ultimate Classic Rock, BrooklynVegan, ScreenCrush, and other brands as VP of Digital + Live Events at Townsquare Media, where he secured partnerships and produced several of the diversified media company's inaugural Loudwire Music Awards, the XXL Freshman Concerts, and live country music festivals. Bernstein's many projects in recent years also include the Chris Jericho Rock & Wrestling Rager at Sea cruise and the growing expansion of indie publisher Z2 Comics, which has produced some of the industry's leading music-based graphic novel projects alongside such diverse artists as The Doors, Babymetal, Poppy, Sturgill Simpson, Yungblud, and the Grateful Dead. Bernstein currently resides in Maplewood, NJ with his lovely wife and his two greatest productions, his daughters.
