Sonita Gale is an independent producer/director and founder of Galeforce Films in London. Sonita's first project with Galeforce Films - Andrew Carnegie: Rags to Riches, Power to Peace - premiered at the 2015 Edinburgh International Film festival. As a Producer, she is developing the Carnegie story into a limited series, with EP Brian Cox in the lead role. She has also recently teamed up with John Legend and Austyn Biggers from Get Lifted, and the Emmy-winning director Geeta Gandbhir, to make a music documentary centered on the female artists who inspired a music icon. Alongside this, she is developing a hip hop documentary set in India, with the wonderful Oscar- Nominated Smriti Mundhra and Jerry Henry as directors, and with BAFTA-winning filmmaker Shekhar Kapur (Bandit Queen, Elizabeth) and Oscar-Winning AR Rahman (Slumdog Millionaire) and the late Samir Bangara as executive producers. In 2020, the film was accepted into the prestigious Good Pitch India. In 2020, Sonita produced a short film called International Health Service directed by Emmy and BAFTA-nominated director Ursula Macfarlane, celebrating the international nature of the UK's healthcare workforce. In 2020 she also produced comedy web-series Happy Epidemic - a pandemic-set story created by Jonathan Jude, made in aid of Age UK. Both have been selected for a number of festivals. Sonita is in post-production on her directorial debut, Voices From Isolation, a documentary looking at the UK's complicated relationship with its migrant communities. She was selected to attend the prestigious CPH:Forum out of 500 projects with Voices from Isolation in April 2021 alongside 35 other projects.
