Award-winning actor, director, producer Torsten Colijn was born in The Netherlands and studied Acting for Film at the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles. He has worked on numerous productions for film, television and theater and he is known for The Revelator (2017), The Prime Minister (2016), Rose (V) (2015), Beatrix, Orange Under Fire (2012), Pizza Maffia (2011). Torsten won the prize of 'Best Actor' at the 48 Hour Film Project Amsterdam. He was nominated 'Best Ensemble Cast (short)' for his role in the film 'Leben - Life' by the FirstGlance Film Festival Los Angeles. He was also nominated for 'Best Actor' at the 48 Hour Film Project Cinekid Amsterdam. Award-winning film 'Rose' In February 2017, Torsten attended the Canada Independent Film Festival, in Montreal, on behalf of the producer of the Belgian drama film 'Rose' (2015), in which Torsten stars as the emphatic doctor Zachee who is determent to save the life of a young girl called 'Rose'. With 12 awards worldwide and 43 nominations so far, 'Rose' had its Canadian premiere in Montreal and the film had the honor of kicking of the film festival. Produced by the Belgian production company Move Me Productions, the short film 'Rose' tells the heart felt story of a young girl, 'Rose' (Rune Vandenbussche), who is suffering from a rare blood disease. Torsten Colijn plays the role of the emphatic doctor who is determent to save her life. A donor is needed urgently, but will it be found in time? When insurance companies refuse to pay for the necessary treatments, Rose and her mother Céline (Tanja Cnaepkens) lose their home and their life becomes a living hell.
