Julia Grob

An actor and creative producer of Chilean and Jewish heritage, Julia Ahumada Grob was born and raised in New York City and graduated with honors from Brown University. Named one of 25 emerging theater artists by Kevin Spacey, Julia is a proud member of the New Voices Network, and a founding member of At Play Productions, the resident company of the 24 Hour Play Company. She is the creator and lead actress behind "East WillyB", an innovative, multicultural web series which targets the English-language Latino community. An innovative creative producer, Julia's one-woman show "He(R)evolution" toured nationally and internationally from 2005-2008, including performances at 2007 JP Morgan Latino Cultural Festival (NY) and the 2007 Salvador Allende Festival For Peace (Toronto). Her 2005 interactive video "The Beat Back Bush Workout" won the coveted Crowd Pleaser Award at the New York Hip-Hop Odyssey Film Festival. In 2006, Julia was a featured as an emerging artist in Latina Magazine. Her writing has been published in the Oxford Encyclopedia of Latinos and Latinas in the U.S. (Oxford University Press, 2005) and We Got Issues! A Young Woman's Guide to a Bold, Courageous, and Empowered Life (Inner Ocean Press, 2006).
