Richard Binghames Hendrix Jr. (born January 11, 1970), better known by the name Rick Hendrix, is an American positive entertainment promoter and songwriter of southern gospel, country music and pop music. Throughout his career, Hendrix offered radio promotion, marketing consultation, film development and artist management. Hendrix was hired to help marketing on the film soundtracks for The Passion of the Christ for Mel Gibson and The Prince of Egypt for DreamWorks. In 2004, Hendrix received recognition for helping market via radio the Elvis Presley brand back into the Christian world market and helped Mariah Carey, U2, American Idol and other artists.Hendrix was a faith advisor for Hillary Clinton in 2008 and was deemed the Democratic Party's biggest evangelist by Washington Post for the 2008 primary. Awards President George W. Bush and his Call to Service Council gave Rick Hendrix its highest honor with a "Lifetime Achievement Award" on Jan 14, 2009. North Carolina Gov. James G. Martin recognized Hendrix in 1993 with The Order of the Long Leaf Pine. Kentucky Gov. Paul E. Patton bestowed the honorary title of Kentucky Colonel in 1999. Received his hometown of Granite Falls, North Carolina's first "Key to the City" honor in 1993. The city council named June 13 Rick Hendrix day.
