Taba Blanchard. Born march 22, 1974. Dominican Republic. Musician since 1988. Animator since 1995. Editor since 1998. Director since 1999. CEO at La Visual Sonora, film production company stablished in 2003 specialized in tv advertising, visual content and music videos. In 2013 releases "La Montaña" (The Mountain), a documentary film about the first caribbean expedition to Mt Everest, which earned the Audience Award at the Miami International Film Festival that year, and five awards including best music, best editing and best documentary at the La Silla awards. His recent film, Veneno: The First Fall, narrates the origin and rise of the most famous wrestler of all time in the Dominican Republic, Rafael Sánchez aka Jack Veneno, and his arch-nemesis, José Manuel Guzmán aka Relámpago Hernández. Two childhood friends that, inspired by El Santo movies, became the biggest wrestlers and Dominican pop culture biggest icons. The first part of a trilogy. The film won 15 awards at the La Silla Awards, including best director, best film, and best editing. His work on tv advertising has participated at the London International Advertising Award, Ojo de Iberoamérica, FIAP, Festival Caribe, among others.
