Melissa Jackson is an award-winning actress and producer based in New York City, and hails from Detroit. She has acted for Academy Award-winner Paul Haggis in THE NEXT THREE DAYS with Russell Crowe, Wu Tang Clan's RZA in LOVE BEATS RHYMES with Azealia Banks, and starred in Student Academy Award-winner Randall Dottin's FEVAH alongside Russell Hornsby and LaRoyce Hawkins. She received a Best Actress award for her work in FEVAH at the 2019 Mammoth Film Festival. Jackson got her itch to perform at a young age while dancing in competitions. At age fifteen she entered a Wilhelmina Models nationwide talent search and was one of ten picked out of 60,000 entries: her route to NYC. From Italian Vogue to Target, Jackson's days of modeling led her to pursue acting training by the world renowned acting coach Anthony Abeson, and with The Upright Citizens Brigade. Jackson formed Winding Roads Production in 2016 to develop the feature action-adventure film adaptation BRIDGE TO ALTA VISTA. She was one of ten women brought to the 2018 Cannes Film Festival to pitch at the inaugural Breaking Through The Lens competition. Jackson is the Founder and Executive Director of the Marilyn Violet Foundation, named after her late grandmother, which works to improve the lives of children in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Detroit. Jackson co-founded Mystic Entertainment with Nikhil Melnechuk, which is currently developing the scripted television series JACK AND JILL and the romance-thriller SAYONARA.
