Quint Rogers - Writer, Producer and Director. Quint was born in San Juan, Texas and raised in Edinburg, Texas. As a child he was a self taught artist and wrote short stories. His interest in film writing and making films developed an early age. He was first introduced to film making in the 6th grade when a friend of his, Anthony Ethridge, asked Quint and several friends if they wanted to be in a 8mm science fiction film that his older brother Ben, ( who was a senior at Edinburg High school) was working on. Everyone showed up on an early Saturday morning to film. Quint was amazed to see the props and the sets that looked like the bridge of the from Star Trek. Even the costuming was impressive. Two weeks later the cast was invited after school to Ben's Edinburg High school at the Mass. Com. Radio, Film and TV Broadcasting studios named KBOB. The head of the department Jonah Gray would end up being Quint's future mentor. Ben corralled everyone into a room turning off the lights and projector on. Quint was astonished by the special effects, action scenes and seeing himself on film. Quint was hooked. He wanted to make movies. Everyday after school from 6th grade to 8th grade Quint would ride his bicycle to Edinburg High School KBOB Studios learning everything from production to running equipment. When Quint got into high school he was eager to work on his first film. He decided to make a Spider-Man film which drew media attention that reached Marvel comics in New York. Quint received a letter from Marvel Comics and Cadence Industries who owned Marvel comics, giving him special permission to make the film as long as the "Oscar" would go to Aunt May. Quint got the green light from his teacher Jonah Gray and started filming. Quint experimented with visual effects and wall climbing scenes that surprised everyone in the editing room. He did the stunts for the film going as far as swinging off a 7 story building freaking out the tenants. He still has the Spider-Man costume to this day. Quint then followed with another movie called "The Quest" that took him his entire high school years to finish. He entered "The Quest" film at the UCLA Film festival placing second. After graduating from Edinburg High School Quint worked for an ABC Affiliate KRGV TV Channel 5 in Weslaco, Texas as a News Photographer and ENG Editor. Quint also worked for Univision Affiliate K12TV in Harlingen, Texas where he produced and directed award winning commercials. Later he would travel to Illinois and worked for Penta Corporation advertising agency where he produced and directed award winning commercials for Pepsi, Wendy's, Bunnomatic - 401 K and IGA. Quint would find his niche at the University of Illinois at PBS Affiliate WILL TV 12 where he continued to write, produce and direct perfecting his skills and mastering the art of documentaries. He was also nominated for several awards. Quint also attended classes for screenwriting at the Second City Training Center in Chicago, Illinois. While in Chicago with a friend, a Casting Director approached them to be extras in a film "Above the Law" with an unknown lead actor Steven Seagal. Later while giving a friend a ride to be an extra in the film "The Babe" with John Goodman in Danville, Illinois. Quint was also cast in the film. He was also in the film "With Honors" with Brendon Frasier and Joe Pesci location in Urbana, Illinois. Quint returned home to Edinburg, Texas reestablishing himself as a film maker. In August of 2009 Quint received an invitation to the Regional Premiere of the movie "Shorts" directed by Robert Rodriguez.in Austin, Texas. Quint met and befriended Robert Rodriguez and Producer Elizabeth Avellan who were very encouraging, influencing Quint to produce and direct a movie feature of his screenplay "Andy's Guardian." Quint was later invited to the set of "Machete" where he spent three days as an observer and getting a chance to meet with Danny Trejo along with other cast members. Quint establishing his film production company Hence4th productions, took Robert and Elizabeth's advice and produced and directed his first major film project "Andy's Guardian" and entered the film at film festivals and got noticed. Chicago International Film Festival 2010' In 2011 Quint followed up writing the screenplay, producing and directing his second movie "Susto" which received great reviews. "Susto, a movie that makes you think twice about Ghost hunting." Miami International Film Festival. In 2012 Quint began filming his third movie "Lonestar Border Justice" in which he wrote the screenplay, produced and directed the movie as well. Inspired by true events. "A Captivating Film!" Austin Film Festival. In 2014 Quint began production on his fourth film "Malvado Dangerous Grounds" but stopped production upon his mother's passing to mourn and handle her affairs. He resumed production, film to be release in 2016. In 2014 Quint received a Legislative Resolution from Texas State Representative Veronica Gonzalez, commending his artistic efforts and promoting the arts in film in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas. Quint is a Volunteer with the American Red Cross. He has been a guest speaker at high schools, University of Texas Pan Am (now University of Texas Rio Grande Valley), and South Texas College. He has been a panel speaker and judge for Film Festivals. Quint has been featured in newspapers, magazine, TV and Radio. Quint received his Associates Degree from South Texas College. He is working on his Bachelor's Degree in English and Creative Writing at Southern New Hampshire University.
