Born in Newham, England and raised on the Eastside of Atlanta, 21 Savage, comes from a background of poverty, struggle, crime, and violence. This pain and anger come across as a clear message in his music, do not mess with me or my people. Starting with his debut mixtape 'The Slaughter Starting with his debut mixtape 'The Slaughter Tape,'released in May 2015, 21 has developed a sound that is somewhere between Atlanta's Trap and Chicago's Drill as a hyper violent, hyper real view of the Real Atlanta. He has forged meaningful relationships with super producers Sonny Digital and Metro Boomin as well as upstart F-12. His follow-up tape 'Free Guwop EP' was a collaboration with Sonny Digital and his way of paying homage to the only rapper he has ever looked up to, East Atlanta's own GucciMane. His third release, Slaughter King, released Dec '15, officially put 21 on the map as an artist to watch. Not long after its release, Savage was named by XXL a 2016 Freshman. With the release, 'Savage Mode' (July 2016), a collaboration with super producer, Metro Boomin', 21 Savage has taken his underground stardom to viable mainstream success, receiving 11.6k+ in sales total in its first week as a completely independent artist; charting #1 for a full week ahead of Drake, Schoolboy Q, and Logic. In it's 3rd week, 'Savage Mode' remained #4 on all of Apple Music (not just hip-hop). Momentum only sped up for the rapper after 'Savage Mode,' he then dropped 'Issa' and the collaborative 'Without Warning' with Metro Boomin' and Offset of the Migos. 21 Savage has a partnership with Epic Records, a label owned by Sony Music Entertainment.
