Chaaritha, also known as "Chaari" is a Sri Lankan editor and director of narrative short films, music, and experimental video, with a history of also working as a still photographer on feature films and music videos. He functions as an editor for hire and has also directed over ten short narratives, of which "Shades (2017)" a Horror/Drama was screened at the renowned Blackbird Film Fest, Cortland, New York in the 2017 edition of the festival. In his filmmaking, Chaari is interested in character driven films as opposed to the more traditional plot driven narrative. However, as a filmmaker he is adaptable to scripts and ideas that may not fit this criteria -- his short but diverse filmography is evident of this. He is also the first Sri Lankan national to earn an MFA in Filmmaking.
