Cellist Peter Lewy has worked on stage and in the recording studio with hundreds of recording artists, from folk artists like The Roches, Frank Tedesso and David Massengill all the way to rockers like Nada Surf, Neon Leon and Mark Johnson. He has also collaborated extensively with artists like Jazz legends Jaco Pastorius and Bucky Pizzerelli and Indian Sarod virtuoso Vasant Rai. Peter has performed for thousands from the Clearwater festival to such diverse clubs as The Bottom Line, The Blue Note and CBGB's. Peter's music has been heard on radio stations throughout the world. His classical credits include serving as principal cellist and concerto soloist with several NYC metropolitan orchestras in addition to numerous recital and chamber music appearances including at Lincoln Center. In 2006 his highly personal interpretations of the Bach Suites for Unaccompanied Cello were praised by pianist Maurizio Pollini. His latest release "Some Other Way" (2012) introduces the cellist as singer/songwriter and features 3 original songs as well as classic songs by singer/songwriters he has worked with and Hendrix, Dylan and others.
