Jocelyn Anna Lernout is a Canadian actress, writer and filmmaker born and raised on a farm in St. Thomas, Ontario until moving to Chatham where she lived on the Thames River with her family of seven. She has a degree in Psychology from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario. In 2007 she began making short films including 'Into The Future of Education: 2020', and 'Into Understanding'. She moved to Vancouver, British Columbia from 2009-2011, studying Aboriginal Music Studies and Journalism while completing the short film 'A World of Culture'.
