Matthew Sorvillo was born and raised in Queens, New York. He lives and works in Las Vegas, Nevada. The script for his psychological thriller, Edgewater, was an Official Selection of both the 2018 Catalina Film Festival and the 2018 SmashCut Screenplay Competition, and was the inaugural winner of the 2018 StudioFest Film Festival. Financed by StudioFest, his debut feature, the dramatic thriller Souvenirs, was filmed in May of 2019 and will premier in September at StudioFest's 2019 film festival. Though constantly working on scripts for both film and television, Matthew is also making the transition to develop comic book projects as well. In 2018 he contributed to Image Comics' "Where We Live", a benefit anthology exploring themes of gun violence in America, which raised over $125,000 for the victims and families of the tragic Las Vegas shooting of October 1st, and was nominated for the 2019 Eisner award for best anthology.
