Miryam Jacobi is an actor, writer, director and producer from New Zealand. Her focus is on female-centric content with a political edge and big heart. She originally trained as an actor at Toi Whakaari; NZ Drama School, graduating with a Bachelor of Performing Arts. Her debut short film, Do You Like Me Like This?, was self-funded and premiered at the Show Me Shorts in, followed by screenings at numerous international festivals. Miryam's debut documentary, Disorder, received 30,000 views in its first 5 days of online release and has been received with high praise from eating disorder specialists and those who have lived with the mental illness from all over the world. Miryam was the Director's Assistant to Claire McCarthy (The Waiting City, Ophelia) on BBC's The Luminaries. She runs 2113 Creatives with her partner Jack Barry, producing and directing a range of creative and commercial content. She directed the short film, Born Different, for inclusive performance company Touch Compass, which had its World Premiere at Galway Film Fleadh. She produced award-winning director Stephen Kang's latest short film, Hand, set for release in 2021. Miryam travels between NZ and LA and is represented by Gail Cowan Management and Bohemia Group.
