Sandra Romero Acevedo

She studied journalism at the University of Seville and film directing at the ECAM. During her years at the Madrilenian school she made two short films, Cenizas and Una habitación propia. After graduating, she made more short films, until Por donde pasa el silencio, shot in 2020, won the Silver Biznaga for Best Director at the Malaga Film Festival. This recognition enables the director to think about the adaptation of this material into a feature film, a project supported by the Film Residencies program of the Academy and the Script Lab of the Berlin International Film Festival. Finally, the feature film produced by Icónica Films and Mammut Films, with the same name as the short film, premiered at the San Sebastian Film Festival.
